Review:
A great book describing the history and background of the US national security agency (NSA). It reads like a very good fiction book but you constantly realize that this is about actual history as it mentions the historic events and explains the role of the NSA in it... Even with the secrecy of the NSA (parts of the book are filled with remarks "according to information released after a freedom of information act request by the author") this is a book filled with interesting facts, technical anecdotes and other interesting stuff. One wonders how much more information there is which the NSA does not want to release (yet). Even when disagreeing with the role of the NSA in spying on all other countries, I do feel respect for their technical so... Rest of this review on the detail page

Review:
A great book about the history of the cracking of the Enigma codes around the second world war. The book describes the involvement of all sides in the cracking of the code and the counter-measures by the Germans, with good descriptions of the people involved, the tension on all sides about the cracking of the code and the secrecy surrounding it and the brilliant thinking done to crack the code. This also kept a number of people involved from setting the record straight for all those years. The book includes the mathematics behind all the code cracking and a good explanation. Great book, good reading for both pe... Rest of this review on the detail page

Book description
The Iraqi scientist who designed Baghdad's nuclear bomb tells how he did it in secret with the cynical help of U.S., French, German, and British suppliers and experts, and kept it hidden from U.N. inspectors after the Gulf War. Today, he says, Saddam Hussein is only months away from making a workable bomb and has every intention of using it. Don't tell me about the law. The law is anything I write on a scrap of paper." Saddam Hussein
