Review:
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is an inspiring book. On the surface, it tells the story of a father and son on a beautiful cross-country motorcycle ride. Looking deeper it is an insightful mission of self-discovery that inspires the reader to go on a journey of personal growth, to be introspective and to develop a strong character. This book will change how you look at life, and challenge you to see the world through a different filter.

Review:
The "Guidebook to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" (by Ronald L. Disanto & Thomas J. Steele) serves as a metaphorical "backpack of supplies" for the reader's journey through Pirsig's original book "Zen & Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" (ZMM). DiSanto & Steels [history & literary] " Guidebook to ZMM" has 1) a map and itinerary of the ZMM author Robert Pirsig's motorcycle trip, 2) explanations of Zen practices, 3) several published literary reviews of ZMM, 4) an unpublished chapter that was eliminated from the original manuscript, 5) a complete listing (plus explanation) of the Pirsig's "Master Motifs" used in ZMM, and much more. One reader stated: "For fans of ZMM, this is an incredible book that summarizes various aspects of the... Rest of this review on the detail page

Review:
As the founder of MIT's Media Lab and a popular columnist for Wired, Nicholas Negroponte has amassed a following of dedicated readers. Negroponte's fans will want to get a copy of Being Digital, which is an edited version of the 18 articles he wrote for Wired about "being digital." Negroponte's text is mostly a history of media technology rather than a set of predictions for future technologies. In the beginning, he describes the evolution of CD-ROMs, multimedia, hypermedia, HDTV (high-definition television), and more. The section on interfaces is informative, offering an up-to-date history on visual interfaces, graphics, virtual reality (VR), holograms, teleconferen... Rest of this review on the detail page

Review:
A fine book. Interesting examination of the fallability of men with supreme self-confidence. Also tragic.

Review:
Cleese blijft een humorist maar geeft in dit boek een terdege uitleg over psychologie en houdt daarmee tegelijkertijd een hele goeie spiegel voor aan de lezer. Interresant leesvoer voor zowel de lach als de blik van herkenning.
