Review:
Tsutomu Shimomura writes about his hunt of Kevin Mitnick. The book is influenced by Shimomura being one of the victims of Kevin. A very good description of the technical hunt that finally caught Kevin Mitnick.

Even within these limited confines, the book concentrates on specific individuals within the groups rather than communities as a whole. The third part is even more limited, dealing with a single game company and basically two principals. The material gathered and presented here is a lot of fun, and contains a great deal of anecdotal information. A great deal of background is included, such as a possible origin for t... Review:
A book with the stories of notorious hackers like Kevin Mitnick, Robert T. Morris and the Chaos Computer Club. Sometimes maybe a somewhat tilted image of the persons, but a good read in general.

Review:
Now somewhat dated, this is a book detailing a huge number of breakins into computers connected to the Internet during the 1990s. When the Internet slowly discovered (the hard way) that it wasn't the friendly, cooperative place it once was anymore. And the Internet (or rather, all the system administrators working on it) discovered that law enforcement had no idea what this Internet was and how to deal with it. But they needed to learn quickly as more and more businesses and valuable information came on-line and became 'connected'. The book details a huge number of breakins and the tracing of the sources of those breakins. It also tells a lot about the people involved from all sides, how they react, how they feel, how they interact with ... Rest of this review on the detail page
