The title of the book 'not on the level' is taken from the authors' experiences with people in life around him who don't act in the most ethical way, but usually with a high level of selfishness. In different parts of his life, his youth, his time with the US marine corps, his career with the US secret service and finally as a security executive of a large pharmaceutical company he always finds himself dealing with people 'not on the level'. This all described in a wonderful way, which keeps the reader following the book.
