The Virtual Bookcase Reviews of 'Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Technical Overview':
Reviewer Rob Slade wrote:
Of the books on ATM that I have reviewed so far, this is the most useful. Very
few people will actually have to deal with ATM on a technical level, but if you
do, you'll likely find this overview helpful. The principles, layers,
components, characteristics, and management are all clearly spelled out.
Managers will likely not appreciate the lack of "words of one syllable"
analysis, but ATM is a complex system in any case.
(My appreciation for the book was heightened today by a colleague who wanted to
choose an ISP because "they were the only ones with ATM". He had no reason
that we might need to use ATM for email.)
