The author's vivid descriptions of Tibetan rites and customs capture its unique traditions before the Chinese invasion in 1950, which prompted Harrer's departure

Review:Dune the books are to be preferred over the film, as the film leaves out the prophecies of Muad Dhib, information on the planetary ecologist for Dune (a lot to be learned for our own planet) and the intruiging history of the Butlerian Jihad (after which Mentats came about).
