The Virtual Bookcase Reviews of 'Asterisk: The Future of Telephony':
Reviewer Koos van den Hout wrote:A good book for those looking for one on the subject of Asterisk. Both for people coming from a telephone or a computer background, it explains how Asterisk integrates computing power, affordable hardware (given prices of other telephone PC interfacing hardware) and open source software into a cheap pbx. The book originated from the asterisk documentation project (and can be found in pdf form online) which means a lot of 'real-world' experience from a lot of different Asterisk users went into it. The book helped me in a lot of ways. The index of the book isn't perfect, I could not find tidbits of information I saw in the book by searching on logical keywords. A good book for those getting started with Asterisk: having a lot of the relevant information bundled together works a lot better than trying to find it all scattered over the Web.
