The novel tells the story of Wilson, a retired engineer who likes to understand anything and everything through honest but merciless analysis. When he applies his method to comprehending the relationships between the sexes, he arrives at a surprising conclusion. Attempting to apply what he has derived logically into actual practice, he finds himself redefining the prerequisites of intergenerational sex. Unexpectedly, a process begins in which adherents flock to him and a social movement takes shape in which the uses of marriage itself are brought into question. As these events unfold, Wilson endeavors to remain mainstream and non-revolutionary, but he is pulled into areas he never intended to enter but struggles to control. But his fight is far from unpleasant, and it brings both sexual adventures and a modicum of fame. And last but not least, he almost unwillingly becomes a spokesman for geriatric sex.
