The Virtual Bookcase Reviews of 'Body of Secrets: Anatomy of the Ultra-Secret National Security Agency':
Reviewer Koos van den Hout wrote:A great book describing the history and background of the US national security agency (NSA). It reads like a very good fiction book but you constantly realize that this is about actual history as it mentions the historic events and explains the role of the NSA in it... Even with the secrecy of the NSA (parts of the book are filled with remarks "according to information released after a freedom of information act request by the author") this is a book filled with interesting facts, technical anecdotes and other interesting stuff. One wonders how much more information there is which the NSA does not want to release (yet).
Even when disagreeing with the role of the NSA in spying on all other countries, I do feel respect for their technical solutions and innovations.
Reading this side of historic events like the Cuba crisis do give a better insight in how events unfolded.
