This book was definatly a very good one, and anyone who disagrees is crazy! This was one of the few book thas gives off so much emotion- i laughed ( especially at the parts with the weasley twins) i cried, i was mad, i was frustated, rowling has the unique ability to make her books so lifelike and real that its like you're there. I felt I knew harry, like i was a friend. I can relate to him and i think the book is very very good. The holes in the plot are ok, it just makes us want to read the next book more. If you think about it, that makes sence. if all questions were answered, the next book wouldnt be an anticipated as it is. if i have to wait much longer for the 6th book, i dont think i can!!

I love this book, I have read it 6 times, and I know that I will read it again.
The entire Harry Potter story is so captivating that I feel lucky to live in a time when these books are new, I know they will be classics for countless generations. And I am waiting on baited breath for the next Harry Potter book to come out!

I listened to the book on CD with Jim Dale, who is always very good. I'm a HP fan, and have read all five books now, and liked them all very much. However, I have to agree with a previous review. Debbie wrote:
" . . . There are a lot of holes in the plot. If Snape is definitely on the 'good' side and is a member of the Order of the Phoenix, then why does he favour Malfoy whose dad is a Death Eater and who will probably follow in his footsteps? How come Voldemort has been trying soooo hard to get his hands on the prophecy and cant get into the Ministry to get it, yet apparates in there in the end? How did the likes of Bellatrix get into the Ministry? . . . "
Here are a couple of other problems with the plot:
- When Harry discovers McGonagall is gone, not only does he completely forget about Snape, but Ron, Hermione, and Ginny also fail to realize going to Snape would be much safer than using Umbridge's fireplace.
- When Umbridge catches Harry, she confesses that she sent the dementors to torment Harry in the early part of the book. There is absolutely no motivation for her to reveal this damning information, especially in front of a room full of people. (It reminded me of really bad tv detective shows.)
I don't think any of the first four books had any problems like these.

I really liked the fifth book, I finished it in about three days. I was really upset when Sirius died, but I'm hoping that maybe he isn't really gone. I think that Ron and Hermione should hook up because it's obvious they like each other. I don't think that the Harry-Cho relationship was a good idea and I think that he may like Parvati. I also think that Neville and Ginny should hook up.

Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix book was excellent beyond the expectation. I am eagerly waiting for the next book. Cant wait for too long. But i have noticed some critical conflicts between the 5th book and the other books. In all the four books there were not even a single conflict which i have noticed, but in the fifth book, i noticed four conflicts or details which differs from the other books.
Conflict 1:
In book 1, chapter 4 - The keeper of the keys
Hagrid said to harry, "i know your mom and dad from school days. Head girl and head boy in those days".
but in book 5, Professor Lupin said to harry, "dumbledore made me prefect instead of james potter so that i can control them. but i could not able to control both james and black"
we already know that only prefect students can become head boy or girl in their seventh grade. was hagrid wrong in book 1 or authors mistake?
I thought of asking this to the author through e-mail but i could not get her official email id. i searched through the official web sites of harry potter to get an email id, but did not see one. i dont know whether my mentioned conflict is correct or wrong. if it is correct then could any one please give me a convincing answer by themself or from the author.
i will write the remaining three conflicts once i get a positive reply for this comment.

This book along with the Prisoner of Azkaban are my favourites. I like the way JKR has made Harry a teenager. He now has deeper thoughts and emotions, and now has problems that teens have like going out with Cho,etc. I also think that JK made an execelent part with the DA, since this made Harry and the rest who joined less polite and a bit more rebel since they're not following the rules. This book although long is actually very easy to read and when you get to the end you wish it was longer! This book has a few new characters, which i think is great because now Harry,Hermione and Ron have more friends and can fight more againts death eaters. I reallt hate when Sirius dies, since i had hope that one day Harry could go and live with him and really do hope that in book 6 it he turns out to be alive.

The fifth book was by far my favorite! It was so good that i read it in 5 days. Im glad that the Harry/Cho relationship ended. They were just too different. By the 7th book Harry will probably marry either Hermione or Ginny. I also think that Neville will become more self-confidente in himself. I also thought that it was good the Dumbledor explained some of the backround of Harry's life. I thought the part with Neville at St. Mungo's was really sad. When Sirius died i cried and had to stop reading. I really do hope that Sirius isn't dead and that maybe he was knocked out or something like that. I also want to know about the Hermione/Viktor relationship and if Ron started to date someone?? I can't wait for the 6th book but please don't keep me waiting for three years!!! I practiaclly died of torture last time. All in all the 5th book was my favorite and i can't wait for the 6th book.

A friend of mine who had already finished the Order of the Phoenix gave my her copy in order for me to read it as quickly as possible, so she could talk to me about it. I didn't want to start, cause I knew I would finish it in notime, and then had to wait for 3 years or longer for part 6!!!!
(But offcourse, I couldn't wait any longer and started reading.)
After finishing The Goblet of Fire, I really expected that more things would be explained in this book. I still don't understand that Harry was kept in the dark about so many things. There has to be a reason for Dumbledore to have done this. The prophecy was no big surprise. I expected something more shocking! But maybe there are still some things Dumbledore hasn't been telling Harry. This is the thing I found a bit weak about the book. However, we still don't know what's going to happen in 6 and 7.
Now for all the things I loved about the book, things that touched me, that made me laugh and cry:
The one time I cried (I didn't cry at Sirius'death) was when Neville's at St. Mungo's visiting his parents and saves the paper his Mum has given him. That was heartbreaking!!!!!! Neville is definitely one of my favourite characters. I'm glad he didn't die. He deserves a chance to get back at the Death Eaters.
I really hated Umbridge. It was really frustrating to read about all her awful tricks. It was fun to read how the staff reacted on her. I gained more sympathy for all the other teachers.
The Weasley twins'exit from Hogwarts was very cool!!!!! Wonderful scene.
It was also interesting to read about how James and Sirius had treated Snape in the past. You understand Snape's behaviour a bit more now.
I wonder what part Luna will play in the next books. She is quite a mystery.
Needless to say I can't wait for the next book. I really, really hope it won't take to long!
(By the way, The Prisoner of Azkaban still is my favourite book of the lot, because of the fantastic plot and the hopeful way it ends)
