I have read the book that was with Snape and Lilly's love for each other and I beleive how ever that the it was good was not the book of JK Rowlings there was just to much sex in the book. I enjoyed reading it but got very mad at the auther for writing that Harry and Ron would act that way to each other.

Addition: The 553 page version is a piece of fanfic originally by "B.L. Purdom" called "Harry Potter and the Psychic Serpent". http://www.angelfire.com/vi/fanficaylapascal/barb/PS1.html http://www.geocities.com/animegrrlz/HPPS1.html

Ok so I'm 27 and I started reading the Harry Potter books shortly after Azkaban came out. I've since Reread each book twice and the each time coming to the conclusion that they get better as they progress. As i was eagerly awaiting the release of book 5. Since it did'nt come out for about a month i decided to read azkaban and G.O.B. again, so i downloaded them of the net (Don't worry I did buy all the books, but they are at my girlfriend's house semi far away). I read both in a few days on my computer and found myself still craving more, Thats when i saw Book 5 on the net. Knowing that it probably wasn't the real thing I decided to checked it out anyway. Right off the bat I knew it was a fake cause the opening lines did'nt fit with the alrady published ones. But since I was going through withdrawls and was utterly surprised that someone took the time to write a 500 plus page "fake" Harry Potter book, I read it. As stated before in another post I was shocked by the sexual aspect of it since kids might try to read it, but being an adult Harry Potter fan I really enjoyed a good portion of the book and where the story was going. Although there was too much sex for fifteen year olds, the "rape" was horrific, and the idea of getting a birth control potion from madam Pomfrey was scary. If the anonymous author decides to write a sequel to this "R" rated tangent then I will be delighted to once again succumb to my Harry Potter addiction and read it while I'm waiting for book 6 to come out in probably 2008. Until then I will have to try and erase all this fake character developement and plot points from my mind for when the real book 5 comes out in a seemingly unbearable 11 days. P.S. Kids don't read this fake Harry Potter book.

I think I've just started reading the book that Steve described. It's another fake, I'm happy to say - I don't mind reading about the characters discovering their hormones, but that's practically all the first 60 pages are about. It's just too much to be fun. The writing style is pretty well done, though. A simple test: the 553 page, 33 chapter version I've got starts with "Harry had planned to sleep late on his first day of summer vacation." According to JKR herself, the real book starts "The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive ... The only person left outside was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside No.4." More info on http://www.theage.com.au/text/articles/2003/04/16/1050172640571.htm

Personally I think all reviews including the one of the journalist above are of fake versions. If She wanted to talk about Harry's growing up feelings she could have talked of it in the fourth book, when harry is thinking about Cho and had to had his face in the pillow. Or also in the fourth book, when Harry makes the comment "They make them alright at Hogwarts" No, sexual feelings have been left out before, why should Rowling bring them up now. Also on the whole issue of bringing his parents back from the dead. I DON'T believe this is going to happen but what I do believe is that he well speak to one of them...as a ghost or something...a sort of a personal scene where Harry feels that this is a losing war and needs reasurrance from his parents...But bringing his parents back to life is exactly what this series DOESN'T need. It will be a great, no sex, no waking of the dead book.

I've read many Harry Potter fakes for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix including the one mentioned above(which is definatley not the book). It is impossible to believe any of these could be the real book although some are extremely good fakes. I have decided I'm just going to have to wait like the rest of us.

I am doing a research study. I would like to get one of each of the Book 5 - Order of the Phoenix fakes that are circling the web. If anyone has one, I would appreciate hearing about it. (Please write before sending it.) 1 - I am not interested in the real text. (I will get mine when everyone else does) 2 - I am only interested in a full, Order of the Phoenix, story -- not any side stories 3 - If you can credit the author (real or pseudonym) I would appreciate it. If not the author, then at least the source. 4 - I already have the one by "Harry Writer" which is the one about bringing Lilly back to life. David Porter david.porter@lmco.com

I read that one too, and its not it either. JK Rowling has SPECIFICALLY SAID that harrys parents will not be brought to life... i know that in the book you read he had to use his order for i think it was hermione... but that is not the real one either... i have found all of these fan fictions on kazaa. and i know to much about what the fifth book is supposed to be about to know what is real and what is fake.
